Description
Guided by Sylvia Critcher
Sylvia shows us round some of the lovely quilts that were on display in the exhibition.
The Hope Quilters’ Banner managed to take away the rosette for Viewers Choice as well as the Humour Quilt Prize at Quilts UK, Malvern in 2009 – and looking at the detail and the fun it’s no surprise.
Sylvia is know for her corded and stuffed work and you will see examples of this (and if you are inspired don’t forget to look in the shopping pages) as well as often using buttons as a means of holding the quilts together.
What you will see
During the wander round we learn about workshops given by Kim Shaw (who is a contributor here on the site as well as demonstrating at many of the shows around the country); we also see interesting work by a member of the Blue Tulips Textile group www.bluetulips.org/
