Sassaman Inspiration with Valerie Nesbitt
Classes with Valerie Nesbitt • Educational, G, 01-Jan-2018
Fabric is everything for this simple quilt. Start with that large print piece of fabric that you ‘love’ but don’t know what to do with! – select a couple of colours to create the contrasting four patch and there you are!
The piecing of this quilt is really simple. Valerie shows you have to create the four-patch with simple strip piecing; Then you can cut your large feature fabric squares and finally, once you have laid the blocks out in rows, you need to cut the setting triangles and sew the diagonal rows. These last two sections are a little tricky, but not difficult if you pay attention!
The quilt that is hanging in the background is the Stripes Galore Quilt designed by Kaffe Fassett
