Description

Rail Fence is a traditional block and here we give you two options to sew.

A traditional favourite

This traditional pattern is a real favourite whether you use two colours or the four that are shown in the thumbnail.

In this video, we will take you through the techniques of rotary cutting and strip piecing. Then, you’ll learn how to piece the little segments together and pin accurately so that you have accurate seams joining.

With the strip-piecing technique demonstrated in this video, the whole quilt top is made really quickly. Bear in mind when you do this that the colours on the outside are the two that make the rail fence. This also applies when you use even more colours!

This block can be sewn by hand or by machine. Check out the workshop notes for more information on this.
