Meet Cherrilyn Tyler - Textile Artist
Educational, G, 01-Jan-2019
Meet Cherrilyn Tyler a textile artist for over 30 years. She loves to use soluble fabric and free motion stitching to create her exquisite art installations. And as you'll hear each installation tells a story.
When working with 1920's clothes, she realised that she has an interest not in clothing, but in the actual layering and fineness of the fabrics. So, to use soluble fabrics was a good way for her to recreate this fabric. This led to the first beautiful piece we see in the film. And which for Cherrilyn has come to represent all the women and suffragettes all bonded together in one strong unit.
Stitching and creating through fabric and thread is her life long passion, and sharing this passion through teaching and exhibiting is her constant absorbing challenge.
