Description
Annie was brought up in Snowdonia and much of her textile work reflects the landscape that surrounded her during her childhood; she now lives in Wivenhoe, just on the outskirts of Colchester in Essex, and again the local landscape of sea, rivers and fields influences her work.
However, landscapes are not the only sewing that Annie does, and indeed was tempted into a class with Valerie to learn ‘Stack n Whack’ and created a stunning (and very large) red/black quilt.
Like most creative people, Annie hates her hands to be idle, so we discover that she also creates knitted quilts from scraps of wool and yarn, and always has a pocket full of scraps of fabrics and threads to play with when she is away.
As an artist Annie is very much inspired by fabrics, its colours and textures and has even created painted quilts on canvas.
