Description

A beginners guide

Layer, quilt and bind – three simple words that appear at the end of most patterns – but how do you do it?

Well this video is an introduction and a beginners guide on how to turn a piece of patchwork into a quilt; Valerie talks about the things you need to do and also the options you need to think about:

  • type of wadding
  • size of backing and wadding
  • layering to get ready for quilting
  • stablizing the layers ready for quilting
  • to quilt by hand or machine
  • type of thread to use – either by hand or on the machine
  • where to quilt
  • and binding

The microtak gun and tacks are available from the shop.

There will be more videos in the series to give you more options for your future projects.
