Description
Daphne loves to add cable to the garments she knits. Here we get to see a variety of styles including the very popular two part cable; a three part plait; and the honeycomb trellis. All of these add texture, She also shares the idea that you could add a cable border to something, such as a hat and make it more interesting.
Daphne talks you through how to create a simple cable. She uses a double-ended cable needle which is not size sensitive. It is merely something to hold your stitches; you do need to pay attention that your cable twists the same way down through the garment, and if you are an accomplished knitter then you can do away with the cable needle all together.
Don’t forget the sleeves or a garment – cables are a great way to add interest.
To keep your project straighter/firmer at the beginning and end Daphne suggests you always do a Knit stitch.
