In this workshop Kathleen shows you how to apply purl wires and chippings to create a delightful Bumblebee.
Kathleen Laurel Sage
Another comprehensive workshop from Kathleen in her Introduction to Goldwork series. Here she shows you how to create a delightful Bumblebee with texture in the body created from the purl and check wires, which she admits is a little fiddly but very straightforward and worth taking a little time over.
Kathleen likes to have her work in a small hoop and also talks about beading needles.
You get to use the couching method you have already learnt about to neaten off the body and then you can give definition to the wings with simple long stitches.
Finally Kathleen talks about using acrylic paint to quickly fill in the space for the head.
Stop Press:We are thrilled to tell you that Kathleen will be joining us at a quilt retreat for a weekend of layering, soldering and stitching in May 2018 at the majestic Beaumont Estate in Windsor and if you would like to learn more about this – just click here.
