Valerie Nesbitt explains what to do when the fabric just isn’t long enough to fit round the quilt.
Description
In this workshop Valerie discusses what to do when the fabric isn’t long enough to go down or across)the quilt all in one go.
Valerie always tries to avoid having a short piece of fabric at the end of the border. One of the simple ways of doing this is to add cornerstones.
What can you do as a border, if you have an event amount of fabrics? Valerie has the answer: you can strip piece them and then again add cornerstones.
The end result means that it looks like you thought about the borders, rather than having them as an afterthought around the quilt centre.
