Anita Birtles demonstrates how to make this simple pieced house block.
Description
Snowballed corners are the key to making this simple house block.
Anita Birtles demonstrates how to put together this lovely pieced house block. All shaped using snowballed corners.
There are tips for lining up the corner blocks to create a straight seam. Anita doesn’t like waste so she suggests making half square triangles from the left over corners.
The chimney is created using tiny pieces which can be glued before sewing for a more accurate seam. As you build up the block iron the seams in different directions so they nest nicely.
Why not make a house for every place you have lived. Adding applique or quilting embellishment will turn this simple house block into the homes you remember.
