Everybody loves a teddy bear in their lives. Here is the pattern for Fiona Goble’s very cute tinsel yarn version.
Tinsel Teddy pattern by Fiona GobleThis cute sparkly 25cm/10in tall teddy bear will be knitted in King Cole Tinsel Chunky yarn. He’s quick and simple to knit – and utterly gorgeous! (Picture shows teddy knitted in shade Ingot 1710.)
The pattern requires just a single ball of Tinsel Chunky yarn plus oddments in standard chunky/bulky weight yarn for face and paws and a small amount of DK/light worsted black yarn or embroidery floss.
The pattern includes tips on knitting with Tinsel yarn and how to ‘yarn joint’ your toy.
Teddy measures approx. 25cm/10in when standing and 20cm/8in when sitting.
As well as yarn, you will need a pair of straight 5mm/US8 knitting needles and a needle to sew your work together. You will also need a pair of 10mm black plastic toy eyes, 40-50g/1.5-2oz polyester toy filling and 0.5m/0.5yd ribbon (optional). A very thin knitting needle will also be useful to piece your toy together.
The pattern is suitable for adventurous beginner knitters upwards. You’ll need to know the knitting basics plus how to increase and decrease.
Note: the finished item is not suitable for children under three years of age.
