This is a super way to use up scraps of wadding; and Valerie Nesbitt suggests that any motifs will do but these cupcakes are just very appealing and non-fattening.
This is a really great way of creating a quilt that uses up scraps of wadding; without all the raggy edges normally associated with this style of quilt but with the edges still reflecting this very tactile fringing.
You can use pre-printed motives or make your own applique pictures – flowers and hearts would work very well.
Simple sewing with the Stitch N Flip technique completes the quilt.
There are some fantastic fused waddings now available – single sided and double sided – which are would be great to use for this product and you can find more information from Lady Sew & Sew/wadding page
Valerie is the founder and Creative Director of justhands-on.tv , as well as our very own ‘Queen of Scrap’. She founded Creative Quilting, a quilt quilt shop in Hampton Court, where she still teaches to this day.
