Description
Sugar and Spice Project part 7: Chevron blocks
Karen demonstrates another of the components for the Sugar and Spice project. The Chevron block uses rectangular strips of fabric sewn together with a quarter inch seam. The trick to creating the chevrons is cutting the top and bottom of the strip at a 45 degree angle.
Using the trusty 45 degree angle on the ruler for accurate cutting. Karen shows how to ensure that there is minimal waste in making the Chevron block. When sewing the strips together she demonstrates how to offset the points to ensure that the seam line up. Alining the strips to make this interesting block.
There are all the tips and tricks to getting accurate seams, pressing to the dark side, trimming of the blocks and of course using the 45 degree angle on the ruler.
A great component of the Sugar and Spice quilt but also a block that would enhance any other quilt.
