Catch up with Anne Baxter
Interviews with Quilting Artists • Educational, G, 01-Jan-2018
Valerie spent a delightful few hours with Anne catching up on the textile projects.
We get to learn about the Navajo Blanket quilt – an old favourite of them both, and as there are different techniques covered in the various sections, this could be considered to be a style of sampler quilt.
Then Anne talks about her Dala Horse quilt, which was inspired by the Swedish horses of the same name. Anne has combined the applique with some simple half-square triangles to create both a windmill block and the scrappy-style border.
The zig-zag theme continues, but this time without a triangle in sight! It’s her Table runner – and do check out the wonderful quilt Anne made for herself from the fabric sweepings plus calico.
And finally Anne shows us her Turtle Dove project This has both a Christmas and a Home Dec feel, depending upon the fabrics used.
Thank you Anne for sharing.
(Anne’s 5 Baubles project now has a kit in or Shop, as it was featured in the Sewing World magazine)
