Beginner Patchwork Sampler Quilt with Sallieann Harrison - Block 2
Beginners Patchwork Sampler Quilt Series with Sallieann Harrison • Educational, G, 03-Sep-2021
The hearts in this block are easily created with fused applique. Sallieann takes you through the stages to do this. You will require a fusing medium, such as Heat N Bond. Then you will need to do some machine stitching.
She has a great tip on how to keep your patchwork subtle by removing some of the glue. And she has another tip on how to find the centre of your background block, and think about the colours you are using.
If you have a knee lift option on your sewing machine, or your machine will lift the foot when you stop, these are a great help.
This technique is also used in these other blocks in the series: Grandmothers Fan, Churn Dash and Plant Pot.
Fabric requirements are available with our promo video, click here for details.
This block, along with all the others in sampler series, can be repeated to create a quilt in their own right. Just make lots either in the same colourway, or various.
Our friends at Creative Quilting are now stocking the Karen Kay Buckley scissors. Click here to find out more.
