Hexagons, the Magna Carta and The Stitch Witch

what brings them all together?  well a filming day with Justhands-on.tv of course.

We were joined at the Legacy Hotel Hogs Back by Nancy from Lina Patchwork;  Nancy is passionate about English Paper Piecing and she cuts out thousands of accurate paper pieces for us to purchase and use!  She did a series of very comprehensive workshops for us – so keep an eye out for those.

The Magna Carta Quilters Association is in full swing making a wonderful double sided quilt in celebration of the 800 years since the document was signed at Runnymede;  Alison Garner joined us and showed us how the quilt is progressing together with a great little workshop on how they are transferring the designs.    Alison also has a business called Vision Textiles which makes embroidered stoles and scarves for the clergy – and we learnt more about that too.

and finally Lynette Harris in her guise as The Stitch Witch to give us more wonderful short workshops using perle thread – her new love  (her original one having been with her now for 37 years!) – to create sashiko projects.   Watch out for the one using graded fabric, shadow applique and sashiko later in February to create a stunning Dahlia project.

Both Nancy and Lynette will be at various shows around the country – so keep an eye out for them.
