Have you ever stood in front of a quilt at a show marvelling at the intricacy of the geometric design? ... or wondered how the designer had ever come up with a pattern of such complexity and managed to draft it, or manage to master the needlework technicalities?
Many sided patterns ........ complex ‘Mariners Compass’ designs ........ ‘Radiating Stars’ and Kaleidoscopes have always produced this reaction in me. Such ‘wonderings’ were always consigned to the ‘wouldn’t it be nice if’ department of my mind.
To be absolutely frank I am not a ‘dab hand’ at the maths and the idea of using a protractor is not high on my list of ‘must do’s’
If you would prefer to draw around a plate than draft with a compass then ‘Slice up a Circle’ is the method for you. Endless different designs can be produced easily ... any size ... any number of sections included ( with not a mention of degrees) and the pieces will all fit together with the easy freezer paper stitching method.
